Type Locality and Naming
Along the Havzak River, Arg Basin, Central Tajikistan. A.I. Lavrushevich, V.I. Lavrushevich, 1972 (262, p. 63). Stratotype along the Havzak River. Previously considered as the Upper Arg sub-suite. Upper formation in Arg Gr.
Synonym: Havzak Suite, Хавзакская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Dark gray to black, layered to massive, variably dolomitized limestones. Thickness is 150 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies conformably on the Kupruk Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlies the Bursyhirman Horizon in the Obisafy type of sections, the Turkparidin - Turkparidin Fm, the Chakylkalyan Fm - Akbasay Fm.
Regional extent
Zarafshan-Gissar mountain region.
